These new works represent a development after a conversation with Lex Benson-Cooper. around having a show together and what we might call it. Muse was agreed on… so i decided to call on my muses all 500 million of them…and distilling them into the continuation of painterly practice. These works fall under the umbrella of loving the paint, the process of painting and communicating the painting. I thank the muse and actively seek it out. JL
LEX BENSON-COOPER
I have had a break from painting for a few years, this being my first show since. It has been interesting to again find a way of working with paint to see what happens. Apart from enjoying paint and texture, there seems to be in this collection a repeat of a mixture of reality and an abstraction of some type of reality in each of the pieces. This combination naturally forms a narrative after the fact, the structure of which is loosely indicated by the titles. LBC
