NOLA WEBER
Nola is a well known Hawkes Bay floral artist. She refers to herself as “a gardener who paints”. Her passion to paint flowers is evident once you view her work.
The rich oils capture the essence of each flower even the stems and leaves have a bold importance. Her use of colour is bold but also subtle telling the story of the seasons, movement and forms yet there is a mystery and peacefulness in each work.
Nola says flowers represent to her a cycle of life from seed, bud, stem and flower then fading and returning to earth to begin a new cycle.
Nola has been painting for nearly 50 years and has exhibited in many exhibitions. She has work throughout NZ and overseas, has donated art work as fund raisers, donated to various nursing homes and hospitals and taught art to adult students for 10 years.
