NEALA GLASS
Neala Glass is an Auckland based artist who works with drawing and printmaking techniques. Characterised by monochromatic palettes and a focus on the figure, Neala’s work explores the ways in which the human form can communicate narrative, mood, emotion and tension.
An interest in psychology and the intricacy of the human condition sits behind the works, as Neala aims to reflect an expression the subject’s inner world. The pieces strike a balance between moments of realism and areas of abstraction and gesture. The works offer a sense of quietude, introspection and contemplation.
Neala Glass gained a BA/BFA from the University of Auckland/ Elam School of Fine Arts specialising in Printmaking, Art History and Psychology. She is currently a gallery director and exhibits work in galleries predominately around New Zealand.
