NATALIE BLACKWOOD
Natalie Blackwood is a Hawke's Bay artist known for her richly layered abstract oil paintings.Working with a distinctive impasto technique, she creates tactile surfaces that capture and soften light, bringing depth and atmosphere to a space.
Her paintings draw from collected textiles, botanicals, and found objects, transforming everyday materials into sophisticated abstract compositions. Thick passages of paint sit over subtle underlayers, creating works that reveal new details over time. Balancing texture, colour, and quiet complexity, her paintings are designed to create moments of beauty and reflection within the home.
