Auckland artists, Sam Leitch and Jamie Adamson, both make use of the circle to express their respective points of view. Sam’s bold and colourful paintings combine geometric abstraction with figurative elements. His lines snake around the square boards in concentric circles merging into fantastical creatures. The paintings are beautifully finished in clear resin which really makes the colours pop.
Jamie Adamson’s striking wooden wall sculptures also make a statement. Formerly a boat builder, Jamie knows how to bend wood to his will. His sculptures are made in beautiful timbers that have been joined and, in some cases, steamed to create beautiful forms and even more interesting shadows.
