MY MUSE: BOSCH & LED ZEPPELIN

As a child, I was captivated by a poster of Bosch’s “The Garden of Earthly Delights” that hung in my uncle’s home. I would gaze at the vibrant, chaotic scenes for hours while the ethereal sounds of Led Zeppelin filled the air, creating a backdrop that transcended time and space. The music and the art fused together in my mind, igniting a sense of wonder and curiosity that continues to inspire my creative journey today. This early exposure to Bosch’s fantastical imagery laid the groundwork for my understanding of the interconnectedness of all things, encouraging me to embrace both beauty and complexity in my art.

Drawing from Bosch’s imaginative realms, I seek to create pieces that not only celebrate the beauty of nature, like the awe-inspiring New Zealand sky and the serene sea, but also confront the complexities of existence.

Just as Bosch’s work often juxtaposes paradise with chaos, I aim to capture the delicate balance between joy and struggle in my practice. This exploration allows me to engage with the divine aspects of life, revealing the interconnectedness of all beings and the profound impact of our choices.

Bosch encourages me to embrace the mysterious and the unexpected. His ability to evoke emotion through vivid imagery inspires me to infuse my creations with a sense of wonder and inquiry. By channeling his legacy, I strive to invite viewers into a dialogue about the world we inhabit— the beauty, the chaos, and the shared humanity that connects us all. Each brushstroke becomes a meditation on existence, inviting reflection and connection, reminiscent of Bosch’s timeless ability to provoke thought and inspire
